He was predeceased by: his parents, Hurgle Everett and Bessie Irene Burtin (Evans); his wife Jeanne; and his siblings, Marvin V. Burtin and Alma Maye Friedlan.
He is survived by: his children, Mike (Deb Burtin) of Eureka, Merle Burtin of Eureka, Marsha (Tim Lilley) of Neal, Mark Burtin of Eureka, Monte (Tammi Burtin) of Eureka and Missy Burtin of Eureka; and his siblings, Melvin Burtin of Fort Lupton, Colorado and Marilyn Massey of Eureka. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Greenwood County Hospital Foundation or to the Tree Shakin Show Down.
