He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy "Dot" Pate and Rupert E. Pate, Sr.; his brother Hugh; and his nephew Michael. He is survived by: his wife Deb; his siblings, Bernie and Earth Orv; his cousins, Evelyn, Jim, Lori and Ken; his son Colin; his grandchildren, Rachel, Julia, Jude, Joe, Will and Evan; his niece Elizabeth; his nephews, Jared "Rip", Robert and John; and also Suzanne.
