It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marvin L. Sommer of Eudora, Kansas, born in Lawrence, Kansas, who passed away on August 17, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Marvin L. Sommer to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert F. Sommer and Charlotte I. Sommer (Hadl); and his siblings, Art Sommer and Mary Ledom. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Carver; his children, Diane Carlson (Bob), Steve Sommer (DaLonna), Stan Sommer (Brenda), Doug Sommer, Shari Sommer (Gabriel Cobos) and Debbie Hileman (John); and his siblings, Joe Sommer and Karen Kennedy. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made in Marv's name to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, Douglas County Visiting Nurses, or The Special Olympics and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
