He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Raymond L. Hoppas and Mable M. Hoppas (Odle); his children, Wade Hoppas (Laura) of Erie and Gwen Adams (Tim) of Frankfort; his grandchildren, Weston Adams, Cassie Hoppas, Kelsey Hoppas, Tyeler Riggs, Michael Yanez and Wyatt Adams; and his sister Darlene Beard. He was also cherished by seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or the Erie Museum.
