It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Kay Nielsen (Emporia, Kansas), who passed away on November 2, 2019, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vilhelm Nielsen and Gladys Nielsen (Jarvis); and his siblings, Doris Douglas, Norma Jean Powell and John Nielsen.
He is survived by: his wife Joann Nielsen (Lockard) of Emporia; his son Richard Nielsen of Emporia; his grandsons, Derek Nielsen (Brianna) of Emporia and Dustin Schoeck of Manhattan; and his great grandchildren, Landon Schoeck, Elliot and William Graham Nielsen.
The family request no flowers please, with memorial contributions to the Emporia Alzheimer's Support Group or Friends of Emporia Animal Shelter can be sent in care of the funeral home.
