She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert L. Messinger and Naomi F. Barton Messinger; her brother Roger Messinger; and her husband Dennis Hodges. She is survived by: her former husband David H. Jones; her children, Julie Harrison of Emporia, Dava Jones (Edward) of Topeka, Jayne Spitznogle (Shane) of Valdosta, Georgia, Jeff Hodges (Kristin) of Lebo and John Hodges (David) of Kansas City, Missouri; and her sister Pat Whitley of Liberty, Missouri.
