She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Gibson and Melvina "Babe" Armstrong Gibson; her husband Larry D. Howard; and her sister Maxine Whitsitt. She is survived by: her children, Kirk Howard of Emporia, Lori Rainey (Larrie) of Emporia, Tammi Hanson (Brian) of Burlington and Jodi Howard (Dave Hull) of McKinny, Texas; her grandchildren, Chris Mareska, Colby Rainey, Shawna Rainey, Matt Howard, Jenae Harris, Kaylene Devena, Blake Hanson, Scott Bird, Hailey Hull and Carson Hull; her great grandchildren, Alex Duran, Braeden Rainey, Emery Rainey, Ava Ortiz, Michael Mareska, Dylan Hanson, Scarlet Hanson, Brynlee Harris, Wesley Devena, Grant Devena, Clark Devena, Teddy Bird and Bella Bird; and her close friend Richard Bennett of Emporia.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (823 Merchant St, Emporia, KS 66801). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
