He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse N. Betty and Ethel L. Wilson Betty; his wives, Vera Joan Vail and Vivian Elaine Yewell; his sister Doris Taylor; and his son-in-law Neal Cobb.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sara Cobb of Emporia and Ruth Ann Schmidt (Duane) of Valparaiso, Indiana; his stepchildren, Karen Moorman (Mitch) of Emporia and Stephen Yewell (Mary) of Olathe, Kansas; his grandchildren, Neal, Jessica Cobb, Michael, Joshua Yewell (Ginny), Taylor Moorman, Richard Schmidt (Stacey) and Richelle Stackert (Jeffrey); and his great grandchildren, Kate, George Stackert, David, Jonathan Schmidt, Via, Ruby, Dennis, Alexa Cobb and Jaxton Yewell.
