She was predeceased by: her mother Mary Agnes Groundwater (Baker); her stepfather Fred R. Schaefer; her father Justin J. Groundwater; her grandparents, Arthur C., Minnie M. Groundwater (Harris), Jessie Gillum and Etta Mae Baker (Wright); her sisters, Norlene Ruth Bower and Mary Justina Crisp; her stepbrother Richard Schaefer (Darlene); and her son-in-law W. R. "Raymond" Smith.
She is survived by: her husband John; her children, Lorraine Smith (Lorrie Groundwater) of Wichita, KS and Dustin Marc Lantow of Emporia, KS; her sister Juanita Karen Comp (Jon) of White City, KS; her aunt Laola Burke of Kansas City, KS; and her uncle Clayton Baker of Liberty, MO. She is also survived by other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The inurnment was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 8:00 PM at the Chicago Mound Cemetery.
