It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Ellon Cox of Emporia, Kansas, born in Nettleton, Mississippi, who passed away on June 28, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alton Sloan and Estel Sloan (Hoad); her husband Larry; her sons, Larry and Jim Cox; her brother Aubrey Sloan; and her grandsons, Lorne and Lance Cox.
She is survived by: her son Kelly Cox of Emporia; and her siblings, Jessie Holt of Blue Springs, MO, Samantha Peeler of Lee Summit, MO and Owen Sloan of Blue Springs, MO. She is also survived by four grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many friends.
Family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Life Church in care of the funeral home.
