She was predeceased by: her parents, Ventura G. Mendoza and Dolores Mendoza (Villa); her husband Joel Gutierrez; and her siblings, Eugene Mendoza and Delores Alonzo.
She is survived by: her children, Joel V. Gutierrez, Jr. (Anna) of Wichita and Christine D. Kolmer (Steve) of Emporia; her grandchildren, Angela Torres (Reynaldo), Gina Gutierrez, Joseph Gutierrez (Emalie), Mark Kolmer and Sarah Santigate (R. J.); her great grandchildren, Diego Gutierrez, Santiago Torres, Jasmine Trujillo, Maia Gutierrez, Eli Gutierrez, Knox Gutierrez and Lucia Kolmer; and her nieces and nephews, Naya Balandran, Dennis Mendoza, Lupe Rodriguez and Cruz Mendoza.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Emporia Animal Shelter or Hand in Hand Hospice, and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
