It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lawrence Wilford Bishop of Emporia, Kansas, who passed away on January 22, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George E. Bishop and Anna Isa Schremmer Bishop; his wife Gladys May Ehler; and his siblings, Julius Bishop and Ethel Driscoll.

He is survived by: his children, Becky Ziegler (Steve) of Emporia, Rick Bishop of Visalia, Barbara Hoobler (Mike) of Madison and Dave Bishop (Susan) of Princeton, TX; his sister Helen Durr of Smith Center, Kansas; his grandchildren, Brad Ziegler, Brent, Jaimee Hoobler, Kerri, Colin Watson, Lanie, A. J. Singer and Dana Bishop; and his great grandchildren, Toree, Trista Hoobler, Vivian and William Watson.

“We cherished getting to visit with Uncle Lawrence at Aunt Hellen's 90th bday party. One of the many treasured moments was when Lawrence talked about Grandpa George bringing him along as a 5 year old to help provide a "shield of innocence" to the Prohibition Era Liquor he was picking up for the bar that he & Grandma ran out of a portion of their home in Beaver. Love You Uncle Lawrence...! Driscolls & Reids ..... Gotta have liquor to run a bar--but scary "acquiring liquor" during the Prohibition Era...!”
