He was predeceased by: his parents, David Alfred and Ethel Irene Lawson Hayes; his wife Connie Hayes; his son Jerry Hayes; and his siblings, Leslie, Wayne, David, Walt, Virgil and Judy.
He is survived by: his children, Brad Hayes and Tricia Hayes; his stepdaughters, Joanne Priest, Jeanette Branam (Mike), Janis DeBoer and Julie Leydens; and his brother John Hayes (Janet) of Leawood.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home (605 State St, Emporia, KS 66801). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
