It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kay J. Powell of Emporia, Kansas, born in Garden City, Kansas, who passed away on December 28, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles F. Smith and Floy Opal Smith (McCulloch); her husband Donald K. Powell; and her siblings, Charles Smith of Holcomb and Marie Winter of Great Bend.

She is survived by: her sons, Marc (Dawn Powell), Tim (Terry Powell) and Dan (Tina Powell). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.

Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
