It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Bennett McCreary Jr. III of Emporia, Kansas, who passed away on January 21, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bennett and Alice Irene McCreary, Jr. (Selves); and his former spouse Lennis Newkirk. He is survived by: his children, Matt McCreary (Kelly) of Oak Creek and Melissa Storrer (Lee) of Overland Park; his stepchildren, Jay Jasnoski of Overland Park and Chanda Starr (Adam) of Emporia; his sister Jan Peak (Vic) of Emporia; and his grandchildren, Ethan King, Lexie Storrer, Charlie McCreary, Madeline McCreary, Emily Jasnoski, Camryn Jasnoski, Ryan Jasnoski, Ariel Starr Groves, Courtland Starr, Bryant Starr and Faith Starr.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
