He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Rhoads and Mabel Cox Rhoads; his wife Phyllis I. Parks; his son Randall Rhoads, Sr.; his grandson Randall Rhoads, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Austin Rhoads and Violet Rhoads; and his siblings, Lee Rhoads, Sammy Rhoads, Jr. and Alice Richardson.

He is survived by: his sons, Terry Rhoads and James Rhoads, Jr. of Emporia. He is also survived by four grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren.
