He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl W. Potter and Hawa M. North Potter; his stepfather Chester Beyer; his sisters, Sharon Carr and Penny Potter-Lanzrath; and his stepgrandson Colten Gilligan.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Shawn Gilligan of Emporia, Amanda Burenheide of Emporia and Reanna Slagle of Lawrence; his stepgrandchildren, Tehya Osage, Evan Osage, Calvin Burenheide, Cletus Burenheide, Clyde Burenheide, Brody Gilligan, Korbin Gilligan, Shylynn Naylor and Laim Briggerman; his siblings, Carl Kim Potter (Nancy) of Buffalo, Roger Potter (Beverly) of Emporia, Carla Bailey (Terry Roberts) of Topeka, Brenda Ryno of Emporia and Vicki Jacobs (Jake) of Emporia; and his stepsiblings, Bob Beyer (Georgia) and Shirley Zink (Tom) of Lebo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
