It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ellis Edward Charles of Emporia, Kansas, born in Metz, Missouri, who passed away on March 11, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Floyd and Grace Mertie Charles (Saul); his wife Wilma "Jean" Knight; and his siblings, Lois Charles, Edith Collins and Floyd Charles.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cheri Fletcher (Kevin) of Manchester, IA and Rhonda Jantzen (Jan) of Emporia, KS; his grandchildren, Nick Kimminau (Masha) of Pittsburgh, PA, Rachel Niemackl-Matthias (Nick) of Shawnee, KS and Jacob Kimminau of Wichita, KS; and his great grandchildren, Charles David Kimminau and Ronan William Niemackl-Matthias. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
