It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Mildred Mayer (Emporia, Kansas), who passed away on December 20, 2019, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James H. King and Bessie King (Berlin); her husband William V. Mayer; and her siblings, Betty Davison, Ralph King, Bob King and Jim King.
She is survived by: her children, Charles Mayer (Kelly) of Emporia, Jay Mayer (Nancy) of Emporia, Steve Mayer of Emporia and Sue Woods (Eddie) of Emporia; and her grandchildren, Angie McJunkin (Jared), Melissa Mayer, Kevin Mayer (Sheri), Rebecca Steinke (Scott), Andrea Cisco (Rocky), Travis Mayer, Chance Miller (Caylie), Megan Miller (Jake) and Mindy Woods. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holiday Resort Care Center to be used for the Therapy Department or the First United Methodist Church and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
