It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Elaine Olson of Emporia, Kansas, born in Strong City, Kansas, who passed away on July 21, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Clarence Hudson and Eunice Hudson (Smith); her former spouse Jimmie B. Swift; her sons, Jimmie William (Susan Swift) and Jerry Lee Swift (Sheryl Swift); her former husband Willis G. Smith; her sons, Gary Wayne (Dianne Smith) and Randall Eugene Smith (Kristina Smith); her husband Herbert W Olson; her son Warren (Beth Olson); her sister Mary Louise Hudson Garner of Tulsa, OK; her grandchildren, Chad, Kelly Swift, Amie (Swift), Sean Mangus, Nicole Moree (Swift), Donnie McClellan, Christopher, Emily Swift, Jason Smith, Jennifer Smith, Justin Smith, Walker, Jordan Davies and Garrett Smith; her sister Carolyn Darlene Hudson Gumfory; and her grandsons, Eric Olson and Joseph Olson. She was also cherished by 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild on the way and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be established with the Alzheimer's Association.
