Doris McKernan Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 23, 2025, at the age of 87, Doris McKernan of Emporia, Kansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Conway Edwin Yockey and Grace Baker Connors Yockey; and her brother Conway Yockey, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, E. J. McKernan IV (Kathy) of Lee's Summit, Michael McKernan of Topeka, Connie Tilton (Steve) of Berryton, Catherine Hull (Deven) of League City, William McKernan (Sarah) of Emporia and Daniel McKernan of Emporia; her grandchildren, Edward, Tucker McKernan, Emily, Michael Tilton (April), Mallory, Gabriel Hull, Kayla, Caroline, Kathryn McKernan, Hannah and Michael Stump; and her great grandchild Eleanor Tilton.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (27 Cottonwood St, Emporia, KS 66801). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Mount Calvary Cemetery (801 SW Westchester Rd, Topeka, KS 66606).
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or the Edward & Blanche McKernan, Jr. Scholarship Fund at Emporia State University or the Conway and Grace Yockey Scholarship Fund at Washburn University, and sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
