She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ray W. Emley and Clayoma Emley (Pope); her former husband Dick Buss; her sister Geraldine Green; her daughter Angela Childears (Dean); her grandsons, Dan Buss (LeeAnn), Rick Buss and Raymond Nichols (Georgeanna); her siblings, Ray Emley, Marvin Emley, Jim Emley (Harriet), George Emley (Jeanne), Carolee (Louie), Margie Ross, Vera Lutes (Loren), Delores Turner (Terry) and Emporia; and her grandchildren, Andrea Heck (Josh), Shauna Walden (Jeff), Seth Morey, Ashley Buss, Caleb Buss, Jacob Morey, Hunter Buss, Hannah Morey, Brandon Mendoza (Denise) and J. D. Baker. She was also cherished by seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with the Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
