He was predeceased by: his grandparents, James Muckenthaler (Jim) and Lora Rundle. He is survived by: his parents, Kristine Ann Rundle Muckenthaler of Emporia and Joe Muckenthaler; his brother Kyle Muckenthaler of Emporia; his grandparents, Theresa Ann Muckenthaler of Emporia and Larry Rundle of Clay Center; and his aunts and uncles, John Muckenthaler (Vickie), Jay Muckenthaler (Becky), Susan Mall (Jeff) and Diana Rohde (Steve).

In lieu of flowers Alex's wishes were to have Children's Mercy Hospital, Alex's Lemonade Stand or Camp Quality Northwest Missouri for his memorial funds.
