He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Johnston and Betty Johnston (Winters); his half-brother Stanley Drumwright; and his sister Ruth Jackson. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Louise Boschowitzki of Ellis; his children, Lyle Johnston of Ellis and Tina Douglas (John) of Ellis; his siblings, Don Johnston of Derby, Kansas, Donetta McCullugh of Fairbanks, Hope Myers of Hillsboro and Marie Adams; and his grandchildren, Meredith Johnston of Ellis, Brody Douglas of Hampton and Sheila Douglas of Augusta, Kansas..
