He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Schaus and Martha Schaus (Yantz); his in-laws, Ozwald and Elizabeth Deutscher; his siblings-in-law, James Hersh and Caren Bates (Robert); and his nephew Trent Bates.
He is survived by: his wife Claudia Laeree (Deutscher); his son Stacy Schaus (Danielle) of Ellis; his grandchildren, Cora, Khianne Schaus, Maddy, Hunter and Lona Guffey; his daughter Julia Schaus-Brown (Darrin Wolf); his grandchildren, Patrick Brown and Peyton Brown; his great grandchildren, Emma and Elijah Raat; and his sisters, Marilyn Hersh of Nebraska and Rita Sussman (Robert) of Colorado.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Christ Lutheran Church (106 E 8th St, Ellis, KS 67637). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
