He was predeceased by: his parents, Nick Herman and Anna Herman (Lang); and his siblings, Theodore, Clarence, Louis, Annice, Laurine, Lydia, Stella, Bernice and Rita.
He is survived by: his former wife JoAnn Gabel; his children, Peggy Deutscher (Herman), Randy Herman (Debbie) and Sam Herman; his brothers, Ervin Herman (Sunny) of Ellis and LeRoy Herman of Denver; his grandchildren, Jared Deutscher, Bailey Dinkel (Matt), Kiley Herman and Jose Herman; and his great grandchildren, Hattee Deutscher, Sutton Dinkel and Jentry Dinkel.
