He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Befort and Agnes A. Befort (Kuhn); and his siblings, Herman, Alvin Befort, Lioba Honas, Mary Weber, Tina Honas and Ruby Seidel.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene (Haas) of Ellis; and his children, Steve Befort (Stacy) of Ellis, Bill Befort of Lee Summit, MO, John Befort (Kim) of Ellis, Sherry Payne (Tom) of Hays, Kathy Zerfas of Ellis and Tammy Rudd (Casey) of Bucklin, Kansas. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Cemetery Fund or St. Mary's Church.
