It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sharon Kay Diffendal in El Dorado, Kansas, who passed away on September 20, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ned Whitacre and Ella Mae Whitacre (Andrus); her former husband Ted Diffendal; her sister Nancy Jacobson; and her brother-in-law Charlie Austin.

She is survived by: her children, Michele Steinhauer (Lee) of Rosalia and Mike Diffendal (Kristen) of El Dorado; her grandchildren, Dylan Steinhauer, Shane Steinhauer, Kady Smith and Ellie Smith; her fiancé Ron Troyer of El Dorado; her sister Barbara Austin of Wichita; and her brother-in-law Jake Jacobson of Sedgwick.

Memorial contributions in Sharon's name may be directed to the El Dorado Safehouse and to Interim Hospice.
