He was predeceased by: his parents, Marjorie Laverne (Cox) and Elbert Roy Gipson; and his siblings, Chris Gipson and Marjorie Sue Gipson. He is survived by: his daughter Teri Warren (Brent); his grandchildren, Mickel and Cris Warren; his brother Norman Gipson; and his close friend Jeff (Ester Glaseman).
