He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Houston and Fannie B. Maddux (Wilson); his siblings, Robert Lee and Donna Faye Cooper; his sister-in-law Alta Williams Maddux; his nephews, Randy L. and Richard "Rick" D. Maddux; and his brother-in-law Dr. Donald Cooper.
He is survived by: his son John David of Wichita; and his brother Terry Joe (Vaudine) of Ellsworth. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
