He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross Copeland and Nellie Copeland (Robb); his wife June Whittaker; his daughter-in-law Jeanie; and his siblings, Barbara and Dean.
He is survived by: his sister Marilyn Kauzlarich; his children, Reed Copeland (Jill) of Hesston, Linn Copeland of Wellington and Christine Keefer (Andy) of Addison, Pennsylvania; and his grandchildren, Justin Copeland (Shannon), Alicia Copeland, Jame Copeland (Chandra), Rachel Knight (Lane), Mindy Emch (Ben) and Adam Keefer (Amber). He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations can be directed towards Age to Age Kindergarten Class USD 445, Schowalter Villa Benevolent Fund, and Hesston Community Childcare.
