He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice "May" Pardee and Herbert H. Dean; and his sister Sharon K. Dean. He is survived by: his pet Goldie; his children, Robin Brown (Gale), Jennifer Blair (Bill), Eddie Dean Jr. (Willow), Shawn Dean, Shelby Nigh, John Rothwell and Shane Murray; and his brother Rick Dean. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He grew up in Wichita, Kansas, where he began forging a path that defined his character and contributions to his community and beyond.
