She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur L. Shell and Minnie Shell (Taliaferro); her husband Leroy Johnson; and her siblings, Marie Price, Jessie Weaver, Erma Hollingsworth, Leonard Shell and Larry Shell.
She is survived by: her daughter Rebecca Atkins (Gregory) of Kentwood, MI; her grandchildren, Celeste Morris of Traverse City, MI and Mal Johnson (Anthony Johnson) of Detroit, MI; and her great grandchildren, Angel and Aurora.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Carlson Colonial Funeral Home (200 S Star St, El Dorado, KS 67042). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Immanuel Baptist Church in Wichita, KS, a place where Betty found both strength and solace throughout her life.
