He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph M. Grunert and Bertha M. Grunert (Rau); and his siblings, Fredrick Grunert, Virginia Kinsey and Helen L. Engel.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Grunert; his children, Robert Grunert, Jr. of Topeka, KS, Roger Grunert of Atchison, KS and JoAnn Grunert; his stepson John Stirton of Effingham, KS; and his daughter Penny Wilbourn (John) of Effingham, KS. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Atchison Senior Village or the St. Croix Hospice and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home.
