We are sad to announce that on August 27, 2021, at the age of 95, Geraldine Ann Schmelzle of Effingham, Kansas, born in Corning, Kansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Wilhelm and Amelia Wilhelm (Heinen); her husband Carl; her children, George Schmelzle and Linda Eaton; her grandsons, David Bockelman and Carl Dean Smith; and her great grandchild Heather James.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Werner of Effingham, KS, Dorothy Bockelman (Dick) of Shawnee, KS, Betty Parhomek of Topeka, KS, Donald Schmelzle of Nortonville, KS, Jim Schmelzle (Virginia) of Topeka, KS, Tom Schmelzle (Carol) of Independence, MO and Mike Schmelzle of Effingham, KS; her sisters-in-law, Peggy, Arlene and Ann Wilhelm; and her close friend Mary Ann Krier. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Ann's Church or Town & Country Senior Center, Effingham, KS, and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, Atchison, Kansas.
