He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Beeson and Fannie Beeson (Holt); and his sister Elizabeth Ann Beeson (Ralph Rexwinkle).

At the request of Walter, he wanted memorials to be made payable to either the Edna Volunteer Fire department and Edna B.E.A.R.S. in his memory, those can be left in care of the chapel.
