He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Heim and Martha Heim (Bromell). He is survived by: his wife Linda Adamson (Kan); his brothers, Jerry (Sandy) of Leavenworth and H. B. (Sandra) of McLouth; his sons, Mark (Tracy), Steve (Jennifer), Kevin (Rachel), Eric (Kristin) and Alex Heim (Marly); and his grandchildren, Steven Beck (Cori), Kayla Stewart (Gabe), Andrew, Cody, Morgan, Lindsey, Jacob, Jack, Katherine, Tucker, Madelyn, Caleb, Luke, Haley, Claire, Abraham, Evan, Dylan and Wyatt Heim. He is also survived by one great grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
