With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Floyd J. Renken of Downs, Kansas, who passed away on October 17, 2023 at the age of 101. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Renken and Josie Renken; his siblings, Earl Renken and Hazel Renken Petty; his wife Irene Nelson Renken; and his son Stuart Renken.

He is survived by: his children, Kathryn Briscoe, David Renken (Mary Lynn), Daniel Renken and Steven Renken; his grandchildren, Sherah McCurry, Wade Briscoe, Rachel Carpenter (Tanner), Hannah Gilbert (Jordan), Alex Renken (Maddison), Shayne Renken and Briana Ford (Drew); and his great grandchildren, Ryleigh Moore, Felix Briscoe, Quinn, Tate Carpenter, Cyrus Gilbert, Tavian and Breckin Ford.

Memorials may be made to Downs United Methodist Church or Wounded Warriors, in care of Schoen Funeral Home And Monuments of Downs.

“Our hearts are broken. Floyd walked and hunted with our family for years. To learn and here stories from his past. To watch him Fly out of Beloit Airport, The 1st I met Floyd was at the Airport in Beloit . I was cleaning out the flower bed and he came up and asked me do you like Deer. I said well yes I do. He said I have one for you. What a blessing God gave us to be a part of his life. Thank you Renken Family for Sharing such a beautiful soul. Mark Hopp Family.”
