It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alice Garey of Downs, Kansas, born in Goff, Kansas, who passed away on August 15, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Berger and Minnie Berger (Schoen); her son Dennis; her grandson Quinn Caldwell; her sisters, Nancy Carl, Bonnie Reinert and Betty Gray; her nephew Mark Arnold; her parents-in-law, George and Helen Garey; her brother Merle; and her sister-in-law Gloria Garey.
She is survived by: her siblings, Martin and Minnie; her husband Marvin Garey; her children, Douglas Garey (Linda) of Alta Loma, Deborah Roberts (Dick) of Beloit, Howard Garey (Cindy) of Downs and Betty Thomas (Delmar) of Downs; her sister Connie Mertz (Larry) of Mulvane; and her grandchildren, Nathan Foster of Lawrence, Shanell Garey of Devore, Clinton Foster (Melinda) of Salina, Sheena Bokamper (Curt) of Rialto, Kelsey Clark (Andrew) of Beloit, Brianne Brummer (Jonny) of Beloit, Riordan Caldwell of Downs, Raegan Shamburg (Phil) of Salina, Shawn Garey of Rancho Cucamonga and Madison Bliss (Bobby) of Tipton. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to the Downs Senior Center or Agape Shop.
