He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Roy and Zazle Katherine Underwood (Wesley); and his sister Coralee Craig. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Obholz of Dodge City; his children, Greg Underwood (Robin) of Dodge City, Missi Underwood (Carl McMillan) of Concord and Mary Kassing of St. Louis, Missouri; his grandchildren, Lindsay Bryant (Ryan) of Dodge City, Josh Brown (Ally) of Charlotte, Jonathan Brown (Pam) of Charlotte and Brooke Buckner (Adam) of Concord; his great grandchildren, Nora, Keegan, Jack, Rory, Lucas and Ellie; and his siblings, Bob Underwood and Kathy Wichen.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army or First Southern Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
