He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Sauer and Margaret Sauer (Smith). He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Wendel; his sons, Eric Sauer (Jennifer) of Topeka, Kansas and Kevin Sauer (Christy) of Manhattan, Kansas; and his siblings, Pat Sauer (LaDonna) of Garden City, Susan Jantz (Larry) of Hays and Linda Davis of Eldon, Iowa.. He is also survived by four grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Ford county Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
