He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick James and Bernice Slattery (Tully); his former wife Donna Louise Vandehey; his sons, Mark Owen Slattery and James L. Slattery; and his siblings, Charlie Slattery and Ellen Gall.

He is survived by: his wife Donita Anderson; his children, Tom Slattery (Bridget) of Thomas, Oklahoma and Lisa Slattery of Grove, Oklahoma; his daughter-in-law Shannon Slattery of Larned; his sisters, Mary Smith of Wright, Rose Ann Swinger of Edmond, Patricia Hornung of Frisco, Sandy Montgomery of Yukon and Betty Burgess of Frisco, Texas; his sisters-in-law, Kenna Slattery of Dodge City and Carol St. Thomas of Fernley, Nevada; his grandchildren, Connor Slattery, Corbin Slattery, Jeremiah Slattery, Ricky Slattery, Christopher Slattery, Christian Slattery, Aaron Clare and Ashleigh Slattery; and his great grandchildren, Nathaniel Slattery, Riley Clare and Madi Clare.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Wounded Warrior Project in care of the funeral home.
