With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James E. Wheatley (Dodge City, Kansas), who passed away on February 28, 2025 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire his loved ones, keeping James' spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While his presence may be gone, his impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Riley Wheatley and Mary Wheatley (Wofford); his wife Neada Wheatley (Engler); and his siblings, Daniel (Wilma) and Marjorie D'Ercole Fravel.
He is survived by: his brother Clarence (Vada) of Spring; and his sons, Dr. Jim Wheatley (Mickey) of Concord, Rev. Arnold Wheatley (Penny) of York and Roger Wheatley (Tammy) of Garden City. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, three step grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Finney County Humane Society of Garden City in care of the funeral home.
