He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Schmalzried and Leona Schmalzried (Munch); and his sons, Darren Schmalzried and Daniel Schmalzried. He is survived by: his children, Greg Schmalzried of Buhler and Lisa Gamber (Matt) of Hutchinson; and his brothers, Robert Schmalzried (Linda) of Castle Rock and Jerry Schmalzried (Velura) of McPherson. He is also survived by 5 Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Boomhower Funeral Home - Dighton (145 N Wichita Ave, Dighton, KS 67839). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the St. Theresa Catholic Church (322 S 1st St, Dighton, KS 67839).
