He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Albert Ross and Vera Susan Hanks (Overholt); his wife Helen Prose Metzker; his children, Constance Hanks (Gregory Foxx), Van Hanks (Stacy Shorer) and Gloria Bray (Stan); his son-in-law John Koehn; his grandchildren, Andrew Koehn (Leah), Sarah Koehn Frey (Eric), Kirk Bray, Emily Hanks (Les Lynch) and Adam Hanks (Megan); his stepchildren, Rebecca Hansen (Brian) and Rob Metzker (Donna); his grandchildren, Derek Hembree, Jennifer Howard (Nathan), Ryan Hembree (Andrea), Erica Hansen (Alex), Frank Hansen (Erin) and Gunnar Hansen; his sister Ruth; his former wife Roylynn; and his daughter Jill Hanks Koehn.
