It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bettie Murphy of Dighton, Kansas, born in Alamota, Kansas, who passed away on July 2, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Hemel and Charolette Hemel (Voos); her husband Robert, Sr.; her siblings, Ed, Reub, Cliff, Don, Delmar, Jake, Jr. and Nedra Sue; her son Roger; and her grandsons, Deacon, Tyler and Jarrett.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis of Scott City, Larry (Marlene) of Scott City, Kathy Lewis (Curtis) of Des Moines, Bob (Pam) of Scott City, Charlie (Gail) of Scott City, Susan of Dighton, Sandra Pendleton (Dane) of Albia, Melvin (Denise) of Scott City and Ron of Scott City; and her sisters, Melva Knight (Freeman) of Scott City, Ila Boone (Gene) of Dighton, Alice Rennison of Scott City, Shirley Ummel of Harper and Linda Barlow (Greg) of Anthony. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
