William Gathings Sr. Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Gathings Sr. of Derby, Kansas, who passed away on April 6, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of William Gathings Sr. to pay them a last tribute.
In the vast expanse of eternity, William shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid William farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his wife Georgia Carol. He is survived by: his children, Candy Buffington (Ray), Bill Gathings Jr., Gena Everett (Jim), Michael, Andy McFayden, Matt McFayden (Ashley) and Ronald D. McFayden Jr. (Beverly). He is also survived by his seven children; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many dear friends.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Cozine Life Events Center (11500 E 21st St N, Wichita, KS 67206). Visitation will be held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Moody Funeral Services (206 W Pine St, Mt Airy, NC 27030). A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Holy Cross Missionary Baptist Church (344 York Rd, Mt Airy, NC 27030).
