He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy (Sigler); his parents, William Wheeler and Leona Wheeler; his son Gene Pope; his grandchildren, Tabitha McLane and Tyler Hall; his great grandchildren, Lucas Rupert and Marlee Hall; and his brothers, Johnny and Donald Wheeler.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Shipman of Wichita, Vicki Rupert of Wichita, Trisha Helmer of Derby, Dennis Wheeler of Wichita and Cindy Hall of Winslow; and his sisters, Gloria Bischoff, Carolyn Wade and Cheree Keeton. He is also survived by spouses, 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren.
