He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Jones (Thomas); his children, Benny R. of Modesto, CA, Carol A. Estes, St Louis, Mark A (Thany) of Douglass, KS, Michael L., Joseph M., Polly A. and Paul R. (Paula); and his daughter-in-law Robin. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

“I remember Richard well, especially during his bike riding years. We often arrived at the church at the same time. Seems he never forgot a name or face. I was sorry to hear that his services were over and that we had missed them. You are in our prayers Richard. And I lovingly remember the other members of his family. From a lunch lady to a special preschooler with her mom and can't forget the buffalo brought to school by a son. He lived a long life and I'm sure you have precious memories.”
