He was predeceased by: his parents, Alois Mathe and Josephine Mathe; his former wife Jeanette Mathe (Ristow); his wife Barbara Mathe (Wood); his son Timothy Mathe; his son-in-law Tom Larson; and his brother Eugene Mathe.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy Mischler (Kenneth) of Chilton, WI and Carrie Schuman (David) of New Berlin, WI; his stepchildren, Thomas Wood (Cathy) of Sand Springs, OK, Pamela Larson of Derby, KS and Curtis Wood (Stacey) of Towanda, KS; his grandchildren, Kelly Brandt (Jacob), Adam Mischler (Heather), Katelynn Broeckel (Andrew), Courtney Yenter (Andrew), Tyler Schuman (Jessica), Jennifer Holler, Jeremy Wood (Bethany), Nick Watkins (Jennifer), Nichole Guffey, Sean Larson (Brenda), Katrina Dunn (Dustin), Kristina Helm (Clint), Kyle Larson (Loriann), Travis Wood, Matt Wood (Kelsey) and Megan Kellner (Thomas); and his brothers, Russell Mathe (Jane), Denis Mathe and Gary Mathe (Janice). He is also survived by 36 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
